William Abe Brown & Nancy C. Jordan

William Abe Brown was called “Abram.” Interestingly, Abram was the last of the sons named Abraham or called Abram in our particular branch of the Brown family. However, all of the Abraham’s who were ancestors of ours were called “Abram” as a shortened version of Abraham.

Abram was born in 1844 in Elbert County Georgia and died in 1896, also in Elbert County. Abram married Mary O Jordan on November 1, I866.

That area of Elbert County is today the area around Bowman, Georgia and more specifically the area around Rehoboth Baptist Church. Many in the family are buried at Rehoboth, including William Abram Brown & Nancy C. Brown (my great grandfather and grandmother) and John and Martha Brown (my great great grandfather and grandmother.)
